Sometimes it seems that when I turn my attention to something, and although I haven’t noticed this something much before, suddenly it seems that the once-unnoticed is all around. I am setting my mind to celebrate November 2014 as a Thanksgiving month. One day a year as an American holiday just seems to be more a matter of a lack of gratitude than an act of gratitude.
Perhaps I am serendipitously noticing Scripture with this theme of thanks or perhaps the Holy Spirit is just bringing things my way to emphasize that this is a good spiritual initiative for me to undertake.
The Scripture from Morning Prayer
“Great things are they that you have done, Lord my God!
How great are your wonders and your plans for us!
There is none who can be compared with you.
Oh, that I could make them known and tell them,
But they are more than I can count.”
I’m going for Spirit-directed serendipity. Nothing is a co-incidence and God the Father is always an exquisite teacher, grabbing the moments to get his lessons across. “There is none who can be compared with you.”
Be happy. Be healthy. Give thanks.
